Empathy

I feel like I can understand Heavenly Father sometimes. There are moments in your life when you get close to someone because you've shared the same sorrow and you've experienced the same things. When we make bad choices we hurt ourselves and those who love us. When we force justice upon ourselves it's hard to swallow and painful to realize. But when our child makes one of those mistakes we seem to double over in pain. Today I hurt. For the bad choice of someone I love very dearly. Today I understand better what I've put my Heavenly Father through in the moments when I tied his hands and he had to watch me suffer for my bad choices. I'm so sorry for that. I'm sorry I ever hurt him. Because I now know what it feels like to be the one who hoped for more and now have my heart broken.

You think in life you've felt all that there is to feel and you're wrong when something new grabs you and squeezes hard. Ouch. Will I ever feel like a good parent? I wonder if Heavenly Father does.

Adele

Reminds me of one of my favorite songs, In the Arms of the Angel

Sarah Mclachlan

Spend all your time waiting
for that second chance
for a break that would make it okay
there's always some reason
to feel not good enough
and it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction
oh a beautiful release
memory seeps from my veins
let me be empty
oh and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight

In the arms of the angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here

So tired of the straight line
and everywhere you turn
there's vultures and thieves at your back
the storm keeps on twisting
you keep on building the lies
that you make up for all that you lack
it don't make no difference
escaping one last time
it's easier to believe
in this sweet madness oh
this glorious sadness that brings me to my knees

In the arms of the angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here

I'm so sorry to hear about your pain. I hope things start looking up soon. I love that song also. It is beautifully written and performed.
