Taryn's Surgery

Taryn is scheduled for her back surgery at 1:30PM on July 1st, this Wednesday. My wonderful ward is fasting for her that day and I have been so grateful for their love and support through all the surgeries she has had. The doctors who are operating on her are Paul Elliott and Myles Guber. Both are exceptional surgeons and we feel we are in good hands with them both. She will be at Swedish Hospital in Denver. Please send her your positive thoughts and prayers. This surgery is to remove three tumors from her chest near her spine. One tumor is lodged in her spinal column and will be removed by Dr. Elliott and part of the spinal column will be removed. They will replace the parts they take out with metal plates and a device that will keep them in place. The recovery on this will take close to three months and she will be in the hospital for a week to ten days. I will be living at the hospital with her for the time she is there. She is scared and this time she seems to be more aware of the danger involved. I just pray for this to be the end of it. That all the microscopic pieces are gone after this surgery. She has been through so much and will never be the same in so many ways. She wants more than anything to just be normal and have her life back. The tumors have caused her to be emotionally unstable because they secrete hormones that mess with her chemical make up. She is anxious to discover who she really is once the tumors are gone and there is no influence of the hormones that make her feel crazy at times. Thank you all for your love and support through these past few years with us.

Love,
Adele
